Try Healhop Rowing!
I have been attending Healhop Rowing for a few weeks now and I want to let you know that Brian is a wizard! He really understands the transformational qualities of rowing in a new and interesting way and it’s something you need to try so that you can judge for yourself.
In the few weeks I’ve been attending Healhop one time a week, I have experienced some very interesting transformations:
1) My creative juices have been re-ignited
2) My mind has been quieted such that I can tap resources not previously available to me creating a sense of ease
3) I have experienced breakthroughs in unexpected aspects of my life
4) I understand the intersection of rowing and meditation (and I’m NOT a meditator, nor have I ever […]

Cooling Down

By |December 5th, 2017|Mind/Body|

The HealHop Rowing experience is not complete until you have completed a 5 minute cool down. Take advantage those 5 minutes laying on the yoga mat by continuing to focus on your breath, doing a body scan to feel sensations throughout the body, giving thanks, or just listening intently to the nature sounds you are hearing. This will help your heart rate and breathing levels gradually return to their normal rates. The muscles will relax, eliminate lactic acid speed up the recovery process. If you experienced a still mind for 30 minutes, this lets the mind return to calm or active, to ensure a safe drive home. I look like it the finish line. Use it as motivation to help you through a more challenging […]

Raise Your Vibration!

By |December 5th, 2017|Meditation|

Think of our bodies being composed of frequencies, vibrations and energy. These traits are transmitted through facial expressions, body language and tone of voice. To raise these invisible indicators, we need to fill our brains with positive thoughts and have a body that reflects those thoughts. Read positive books, watch educational videos, and surround yourself with optimistic people. Meditating on these positive additions to your life will improve your outlook and cultivate the happiness inside you. To reach your full potential, this is a continual and lifelong process. It takes discipline and patience. The lower your frequencies, vibrations and energy is now, the more dedication it will require to feel that first “bump” you need to feel better. Make the decision to start the process. […]

“Slow is Smooth. Smooth is Fast” – Mitsuyo Maeda

By |December 5th, 2017|Health, Meditation, Mind/Body|

I can understand the hesitation from those who haven’t seen a gym in years to sign up for a continuous 30 minute workout.  When you are first starting out, your pace can be like walking. Clients have described their experience as a “chill spin class.” If you can take a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood, you can do a 30 minute row. A slow, leisurely pace is welcome, especially for beginners. Imagine rowing on a quiet pond instead of in a competitive setting. Constant moving, regardless of pace or intensity will increase blood flow and oxygen intake which are vital factors in keep the body healthy. The resistance on the rower can be adjusted to best fit your strength level. If you are feeling […]

The Objective

By |December 5th, 2017|Mind/Body|

The objective of a HealHop Rowing session is to let your mind be still, while your body is fluid. If you arrive (or live) with a cluttered mind, achieving that stillness throughout your entire first session will be difficult. For beginners, if you can just get comfortable with the rowing motion during your first classes, consider that success! Set goals and take satisfaction in little improvements. Even a single step toward stillness (ie from active to calm) can have someone feeling a release of negative energy.  Healing sounds incorporated with the music will assist in settling the mind down to a calmer state.

Similarly, if you arrive (or live) with a lethargic body, achieving the fluidity of the rowing stroke throughout your entire first session might […]

Sound Medicine. Sound Toxin.

By |August 8th, 2017|Uncategorized|

Research from both medical and scientific communities have been making the case that at our core, we are made up of vibrational energy. While I have no background in either of these fields, personal experience helps me substantiate these claims.

Apps like Spotify and SoundCloud give us free and unlimited access to music right at our fingertips . Never have we had the opportunity to create and hear such a variety of sounds. After filtering through 1000’s of songs over the past few years, I found myself being drawn to certain styles that were difficult to categorize. I labeled them HealHop. When transitioning to my healthy lifestyle, I felt the vibration of the music coalescing with the energy of my “Etheric” body. I believe it produced […]

Mind/Body Self-Management

By |August 7th, 2017|Health, Meditation, Mind/Body|

When life is interrupted by health issues we tend to look to the internet, books or medical professionals for answers. While each can provide valuable information, we often forget to look inward to help find the root cause of the problem. Nobody knows your body better than you do. Feeling a sensation is easier than describing it. Professional therapists are knowledgeable and qualified but use terms like “3 sets of 10,” “hold for 10 seconds,” “3X a week” only as guidelines start the process of healing. To continue it correctly, it is the responsibility of the individual to self-assess remaining issues and address them appropriately. 10 years ago I needed surgery to repair two ruptured ligaments in my ankle. My ankle and calf […]

Brian is the real deal. He listened and created an entire class to fit my specific needs- building on the traditional sweat foundation of a typical workout while introducing a new spiritual dimension that you can’t put a price on. His studio is a gift I feel so lucky to have found and want the world to experience as well! I am picky af and promise you will leave better than when you entered.

Brian is awesome!

I highly recommend!

I have been going to HealHop for almost a year now and I highly recommend! I have developed a real love for the meditative nature and physical challenge that rowing provides. Brian is a great teacher and is knowledgeable in many fitness areas. Each class can be much more than just rowing. My workout mix has included Qigong, ski and bike machines, and boxing. Always a heavy emphasis on stretching pre and post workout! Brian also tracks your progress so you can see how far you’ve come.

— Taylor

I highly recommend!
