I have worked with Brian for the last two years. For decades before that I spent thousands of dollars and tried every possible type of organized exercise programs such as Orangetheory, Cyclebar, Barre3, Club Pilates, RowHouse, personal trainers and many other lesser known programs at gyms and studios that I found unsustainable and after only a short amount of time, boring.

I was desperate for a teacher who could take my whole being into consideration knowing that when I wake up, every day is different. My body, mind and spirit want something different. That required a teacher that listens with a big heart, holds a full tool kit of choices, and a willingness to adapt in the moment to my ever unpredictable condition. It also required a highly individualized, personal approach that keeps me energized and excited to show up and move as an enhancement to my daily life instead of the burden that my previous endeavors had become.

Brian has the toolkit, knowledge and experience to co-design with you exercises and practices that you will enjoy and will stretch your mind, body and spirit and keep you learning all along the way. He also incorporates music which you can also personalize so that you can let your soul soar while your physical body moves. He has encouraged me to try new things, like boxing, that I thought I did not want to do but enjoy so much that I have discovered a new part of myself in the learning process. Everybody’s journey is unique. Finding exercise and movement that you can and will do for the rest of your life is one of the keys to longevity. It is a process of ongoing discovery and learning. Brian is teaching the theory of flow & meditation using rowing & music.

The rowing focuses on balancing the body & calming the mind. You must pull & push with equal force for the rowing to become easy or ‘effortless’. Brian is teaching how the body gets into ‘flow’. When in flow, the rowers mind becomes calm and is open to accept and process new ideas & theories. This is where meditation begins.
Brian explains concepts of mindfulness in ways that are understandable & relatable for anyone open to learn. His approach is kind, as you never feel like he is judging you or talking down to you. These traits are essential to why his process is successful.

My journey with Brian has been life saving. I came to Brian after experiencing trauma. I had seen several ‘traditional’ therapists and got little to no healing, and lots of medication prescribed. A lifetime of prescriptions & no relief from the core issue was not what I wanted. I reached out to Brian with no meditation experience & no rowing experience. I just wanted to process the trauma & feel better. Brian is helping with both those needs, & many, many more added benefits I had never even considered.

I have been going to RowDojo for almost a year now and I highly recommend it! I have developed a real love for the meditative nature and physical challenge that rowing provides. Brian is a great teacher and is knowledgeable in many fitness areas. Each class can be much more than just rowing. My workout mix has included Qigong, ski and bike machines, and boxing. Always a heavy emphasis on stretching pre and post workout! Brian also tracks your progress so you can see how far you’ve come.
