Study Thyself

Body Scanning exercises help us get Acquainted with the body. By placing and holding attention on a different areas we raise body awareness. By raising body awareness we can better know what our bodies need to operate at optimal levels.

Big Up to super athlete Angela Madsen! At 59 years young she decided to row 2500 miles from Cali to Hawaii. She lost her life on the journey but remains an inspiration to the rowing community and people across the world.

Can’t afford to spend 1Mil a year on body optimization? Then simply spend some time and attention. An hour a day can go a long way!

Movement Mantra

By |December 4th, 2020|body scanning, dementia, gurdjieff, Health, Meditation, mental health alternatives, Mind/Body, mindfulness, Reflection, rowing, rowing meditation, self awareness|

Mantras are simple sounds repeated over and over and over to assist in concentration or meditation. Rowing is a Movement Mantra. This repetitive motion can help even the most out of shape bodies move in a fluid, rhythmic fashion.

Natural Medicine

The article cites a study done in the Journal of Music Therapy that states music can be “as effective as diazepam.” Side effects from Diazepam (according to google): can cause paranoid or suicidal ideation and impair memory, judgement, and coordination.——- If they want to label the mind-body connection “New Age woo woo” so be it. It’s the results that matter. We ABSORB music. Does the music you listen to heal your being or toxify it?

Feeding and Cleansing

Did you know 70% of toxins leave the body via the breath? Inhales feed, exhales cleanse. Breathe consciously, my friends!

It Doesn’t Take Much

“To be clear, the research team stress that people don’t have to run particularly far, or even very fast, what’s important is simply engaging in the act.” If you are unable to run or jog right now rowing is another great option to get your body moving. Row at whichever pace you feel most comfortable. Maybe it’s more intense like rowing in a competition, or maybe it’s more leisurely like rowing on a pond.

Steady and Consistant Pace

By |December 4th, 2020|body scanning, dementia, gurdjieff, Health, Meditation, mental health alternatives, Mind/Body, mindfulness, Reflection, rowing, rowing meditation, self awareness|

These screenshots show energy outputs from two different clients. Notice how one is more steady and level while the other is inconsistent and jagged. One is in the FLOW while the other is working to reach it. Once it is reached, the body will move more fluidly and the breath will synchronize with its movements. ————- Now take this same concept out of the studio and into life. If we could measure our thoughts and emotions they should resemble screen A. Controlled, steady and level…living life in the flow. If our thoughts and emotions resemble screen B, we are less present and our energy is misused.

Love this class!

Love this class! Brian is super knowledgeable and really helps you channel your mind body connection. It’s low impact but will definitely get you sweating. The space is super clean and the greeting committee Rocky is ready for all the pets!

Brian is the real deal

Brian is the real deal. He listened and created an entire class to fit my specific needs- building on the traditional sweat foundation of a typical workout while introducing a new spiritual dimension that you can’t put a price on. His studio is a gift I feel so lucky to have found and want the world to experience as well! I am picky af and promise you will leave better than when you entered.

Brian is awesome!

Brian is awesome! Challenging class, but in the best way. Definitely will be back. I am out of shape and was nervous but Brian is great and accommodated to anything I wanted to do or was too tired to do, he had alternative options! Amazing!

I highly recommend!

I have been going to HealHop for almost a year now and I highly recommend! I have developed a real love for the meditative nature and physical challenge that rowing provides. Brian is a great teacher and is knowledgeable in many fitness areas. Each class can be much more than just rowing. My workout mix has included Qigong, ski and bike machines, and boxing. Always a heavy emphasis on stretching pre and post workout! Brian also tracks your progress so you can see how far you’ve come.

— Taylor

I highly recommend!

Brian brings a unique take on fitness that keeps you engaged

If six stars was an option, I would select that without hesitation. Been going to HealHop classes for the past couple of years and never once had a bad workout. Brian brings a unique take on fitness that keeps you engaged and always keeps it interesting. Each and every time I finish a class with Brian I feel focused, energized, and better than before.

I have seen tremendous results in a short period of time…

As a recovering alcoholic, I was looking for a way to help keep me focused on living a healthy and sober lifestyle. Brian and the RowDojo gave me exactly what I needed. Brian has taught me about the mind/body connection and given me awareness of my destructive behavioral patterns. I have seen tremendous results in a short period of time and would recommend this to anyone who has the desire to be the best version of themselves. The only prerequisite is that you have to WANT it!

— Thank you RowDojo!
